Hallie Biden testified that she saw Hunter Biden either late in the night or early in the morning on Oct. 23, 2018, and that he looked exhausted. Inside his truck, she said, she discovered drug paraphernalia and “remnants” of crack cocaine, along with the gun. She put the gun inside a leather pouch that she said she found in his vehicle — the same pouch that federal investigators tested last year, finding trace amounts of cocaine. Lowell, the defense attorney, emphasized that his client had recently completed a rehab program in L.A. The gun salesman did not perceive Biden to be under the influence or glassy-eyed, and no witness saw him using drugs in the days after, when he owned the Colt Cobra revolver. Biden, who lives in Malibu, will face a second trial in Los Angeles in September on federal charges of tax evasion and failing to pay his taxes on time.

The Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Living is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to support recovery guests throughout Massachusetts and to practice national quality standards for recovery residences. The name “Zack’s House” is a tribute to the memory of Zachary Gys, a beloved twenty-one-year-old Lowellian who succumbed to a drug overdose in 2013. His family and friends recognized the gap in services for this young adult population and founded Zack’s Team Foundation. This foundation has partnered with Lowell House to provide additional housing for young men from the Greater Lowell area. Each young man will have completed a detox and is actively participating in recovery services or completed a recovery program. It is expected that each young man has the desire to continue living and working on their own recovery in a community setting that fosters such growth.
In 2012 Shaun and his wife Teri founded RAD Racing, a program to help youth in Lowell learn respect, work ethic, and mechanical skills by building, designing, and racing 1/24 slot cars. All participants must build, design, and race a car completely by themselves. Shaun gives credit to the YMCA, and Boys and Girls Club for passing these skills on to him as a youth and feels that nurturing young minds in a world of skill and competitive activities is greatly missed today. Before joining Sarah Cannon, she was the Northeast Registry Supervisor for Client Services for Elekta as a Cancer Registry services team member. A lifelong Lowell resident, Cheryl Sheridan, is the Director of Oncology Data & Accreditation at Sarah Cannon, the Cancer Institute of HCA Healthcare. She is responsible for the oncology data management, accreditation, and registry operations across all 178 of their locations nationwide.

At 21 years old, Robert was one of the youngest elected officials in the city’s history. Soon after being sworn into office, Robert worked with local and state leaders to kickoff Opiate Abuse Prevention & Awareness Programs throughout the Lowell Public Schools. Robert has served on the Lowell Taxi & Livery Commission, Immigration Assistance Commission, Lowell Youth Development Collaborative, Lowell Telecommunications Corporation Board of Directors. Prior to Masshire, Shaun was the Director of the Working Cities Lowell Initiative which is funded through the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s Working Cities Challenge grant program. Working Cities Lowell was a cross-sector coalition of 13 core institutions working with residents and business owners in the Acre neighborhood of Lowell. Paul is also a strong supporter of many non-profits throughout the Merrimack Valley, serving as the Entertainment Director for the Salvation Army radiothon, which helps so many families in need in the region.

Pamela is a past Board member of the Westford Business Association and past Chair of the Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce. She served three years as co-chair of SEGL part of the United Way, which raises money for local non-profit organizations so that children of Greater Lowell can enjoy a safe summer of fun, learning, and employment.

Beginning in 2012 Pamela transitioned to the External Affairs division to work collaboratively with the VP of External Affairs, Philanthropy and Marketing. Since leaving Holyoke, her devotion to volunteering has stayed with her. She has donated her time and energy to many local non-profit organizations. The two went to meetings for addicts and tried to help each other get sober. Another charge, for possessing a firearm by a person who has used or is addicted to a controlled substance, is even rarer. And according to Krissoff, federal prosecutors in Manhattan had a rule not to bring the charge at all.
